…and not die trying

Every year it’s the same story: December arrives, and we seem to get an insatiable craving to eat and eat, and the holiday excesses destroy months of work in just a few days.

Holiday Excesses

I’m not saying you shouldn’t eat during Christmas, far from it. What I'm trying to say is that there are really only about five occasions for holiday excesses:

  • Company dinner or lunch
  • Christmas Eve dinner
  • Christmas Day lunch
  • New Year's Eve dinner
  • January 6th lunch

Really, if you "go wild" nutritionally speaking only on those days (and yes, we can do it without any problem, even to the point of bursting if you want), you don't have to see 4 extra kilos on the scale on January 7th.

That's why I suggest we be disciplined, that we enjoy these dates like kids, but that we don't fall into the habit of stuffing ourselves as if we've never seen food before. Have you ever wondered why we do it? Why do we behave this way if we know we're going to regret it later? Besides, those holiday excesses full of calories, fats, toxins, and alcohol are not at all healthy or natural for our body. It's highly recommended to celebrate and have a shot of calories once in a while, but not for all 30 days of the month.

Another very common thing is to say, "Well, it's fine. I'll give it my all in December and then I'll do a crash diet to compensate." Well, no, forget about it because that would be crazy! First, you stuff yourself with so many fats and sugars that your body doesn't even know how to react to such excess, and then you starve yourself for 15 days on chicken and pineapple? (Good! Bravo for intelligent minds!)

So:

  • During Christmas: You can perfectly have 5 special meals—eat, drink, enjoy!
  • The rest of the days/meals: Eat as usual.
  • Don't do diets or meals to compensate; you won't need to! One thing is to eat lighter subsequent meals, and another is to spend 3 days on purifying syrups.

No more, no complications. We need to love ourselves more and eat a little less (and better).
