I believe there's generally misinformation about taking amino acids; moreover, many beginners don't give them the importance they deserve or don't even know what we use them for.

When asked, "What are amino acids? What are they used for?" I always use the example of a wall. It's very simple and the best way to speak in an accessible and non-technical language so that we can all understand each other. Protein is like a wall, so amino acids would be the bricks of that wall. Each brick has a different name and properties.

And you might ask, "Then why do I take amino acids? I drink a protein shake and I have the complete wall, right?" - not exactly, because protein is a nutrient, it's the building material for muscles. Amino acids taken separately, so to speak, go "more directly to the muscle" and we can benefit from their multiple properties depending on the case.

The most important for athletes:

For intermediate to advanced levels, I recommend:

These three are very complete, as you have glutamine and BCAAs together, which is the perfect combination. But we cannot forget the importance of arginine, beta-alanine, and HMB. These are amino acids that I usually recommend when your level is already higher or intermediate but with intensity. My favorites that I recommend:

  • L-Arginine Caps Weider: 3 to 5 capsules before training, and you will achieve brutal pumps! It increases oxygenation in the blood, therefore better muscle response, greater hypertrophy.
  • HMB Caps Weider: blessed supplement! Ideal for strict diets, prevents muscle mass loss, especially in low-carb diets. It is also a powerful anti-aging supplement.

They are very important and fundamental if you want the best results, don't forget it!
