The muscle definition phase is the hardest to follow due to the diet. We give you some tips that will help you achieve it.
When it comes to working on the bulking phase, we give it our all, don't we? Full belly, happy heart, loaded with carbohydrates and full throttle at the gym, it's all energy and good humor. And since we're covered up, it doesn't matter, I'll define later. I don't miss a single day of training, I improve myself every day.
But no matter how much muscle strength you have, whether you are a man or a woman, you will not know your true potential or your true sports spirit until you reach the definition phase where, after a hard day, your diet awaits you at home and you have to eat a sad hake fillet and a plate of broccoli for dinner. How many truly make it to the end?
What I mean by this introduction is that in any sport, willpower is more important than muscle strength.
I have seen men as big and strong as castles, with excellent potential, fall into weakness and cowardice because they are not able to follow a strict (or not so strict) diet during the definition phase. And it's a shame! Because consistency and discipline are something we must also train every day, in all aspects of our lives.
And the truth is that we have all found ourselves in this situation at some point (myself first).
"Motivate yourself, wake up, fight for what you want, don't let your mind dominate your inner self who is as excited as a child to look good and better"
I am going to list the most common mistakes that make you fail in the attempt and we promise you that once you internalize and identify them, you will know how to nullify them forever
- Thinking you are on a diet out of obligation Error. As soon as something is imposed as obligatory, the temptation to break the rules automatically appears. But think that you are the one who has decided to be on a diet to define, no one forces you, so praise your own decisions by enjoying the process you have chosen.
- Thinking only about the final goal Error. And no one escapes this. If you project your mind into the distant future, you will lose the present, the process. Set small short-term goals and you will always stay on track. You stray from the path when the obsession with the end blinds you, and in the end, you don't even enjoy it, you only get frustration.
- Think of discipline as training, as strengthening Just think about the day you are living now. Do your best today, focus on achieving the goal of the day. And tomorrow? That's still too far away. Tomorrow we will focus on completing that day better than yesterday, and so on.
- What if you fall one day? It's okay. Just for today. Better tomorrow. I mean, as part of good discipline, failing the plan is also included, it's giving yourself permission, listening to your body and your mind. We are human ladies and gentlemen, we are not programmed to be the same every day.
- Being more influenced by others Error. And it is that when we are most vulnerable, it is when others, sometimes unintentionally, often intentionally, take the "liberty" of making comments about you: "you're getting bony," "all day with the tupperware everywhere," "you look terrible," "what's the point"... sound familiar, right? And the problem is not that they say it, the problem is that we give value to that, and that is a lack of self-respect. You feel small and let yourself be influenced, they play with your feelings and it can be the push needed to send everything to hell.
Well, never allow it, if you are able to lift 200 kg on a press but then you are not able to bear the weight of a criticism or an opinion, you are lost.
The good news is that by working on your mind every day, you will become truly strong mentally.
