2022... it's practically just around the corner. And eeeevery year it's the same story: "New Year, New Life," "New Year's Resolutions," "This new year I'm quitting smoking," "In January I'm starting the gym,"... and so on and so forth.

And none of us escape all these resolutions that are never kept. How many of us actually manage to keep our New Year's resolutions?

But there's no doubt that after these last two years, nothing will ever be the same, whether it's New Year's or March or July. Life has completely changed us, humanity has been conditioned by a devastating pandemic, which has made us reflect (or should have) on what is most important in life. What are our TRUE PRIORITIES?, and what should be our TRUE LIFE GOALS?

Unfortunately, we live in an era where we are increasingly superficial, materialistic, everything is about appearances, a "Reality 2.0" which is the showcase of social networks. And suddenly BOOM! From one day to the next they tell us we can't leave our homes, that we must go out with a mask, and kissing and hugging become a public health hazard.

I don't know about you, but shouldn't we take advantage of this unexpected turn in our way of life to LEARN AND IMPROVE OUR HUMAN QUALITY? Don't you think that, from this hard social and health blow, we should take advantage to emerge stronger?

So, what should those new goals be?

What I want to convey by writing this article is that our New Year's resolutions for 2022 must definitely have a different approach, because nothing will be as it was before. And despite everything, I say it in a positive light! Because I believe that you can always turn things around and always make the best of it, and see the good side of things.

STARTING TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES FROM WITHIN

After all that has been lived, after how crazy this society is, we must learn once and for all. MENTAL HEALTH AND OUR INNER CARE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING.

Because yes, our physical appearance and the health of our body are important, but to be able to take good care of all these things, we must first put our "Attic" in order.

In recent months, it seems that the importance of having a GOOD MENTAL HEALTH is being highlighted more in the media, and I think it's fantastic that more visibility is now being given to a problem that silently affects most of us, and yet is incomprehensibly hidden. And I say "affects us" because I myself have suffered from it for a long time and on several occasions in my life. There is no shame in saying it, on the contrary, IT MUST BE VISUALIZED AND TREATED. Precisely having good mental and emotional health is what allows us to then put all our energy and motivation into the physical part.

  • Surround yourself with positive people
  • Take care of your inner dialogues
  • LOVE YOURSELF, RESPECT YOURSELF, VALUE YOURSELF
  • You are the most important person, don't let anyone be above you and dominate you. YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOURSELF
  • In a world full of connections, what you have to connect with first IS YOURSELF. Listen to yourself, observe how you feel at all times and give importance to each and every one of your feelings. And allow yourself to be down or less motivated or sad... giving yourself permission is the first step to understanding that these are necessary states to then be able to be better and continue learning and strengthening ourselves internally.
  • If you see that you can't, PLEASE, ASK FOR HELP AND TALK ABOUT IT.

TAKING CARE OF OUR PHYSICAL BODY NOW TAKES ON GREATER AND DIFFERENT IMPORTANCE.

It's no longer about losing or gaining weight, it's not about having that "ideal physique." Why do men and women have to follow the same beauty pattern? Folks, that has to change! It's already 2022! We insist on continuing like sheep for generations the physical standard of the era: in the Middle Ages, the ideal was to have a voluminous physique, in the 90s, extreme thinness was "beautiful."

In the early 2000s, I remember that, especially men, became obsessed with being hugely muscular, beyond their natural proportions. In recent years, for example, women have become obsessed with having a wasp waist and a large, round bottom, as if all bodies were cut from the same pattern.

Precisely following these patterns is what has also caused serious mental disorders in many generations.

Therefore, I propose to you, starting in 2022, NOT TO FOCUS ON LOOKING LIKE ANYONE ELSE, NOT TO BE OBSESSED WITH LOSING OR GAINING A NUMBER OF POUNDS. Focus on yourself!!! ON BEING YOUR BEST VERSION.

VALUE BEING HEALTHY ABOVE ALL ELSE

There are naturally athletic bodies, others that have rounder lines, people with a tendency to thinness, others with a larger structure, there are women with narrow waists and round hips... then there are those of us who are straight as boards with small hips... there are men who have more muscle mass than others... THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO BE HEALTHY AND IMPROVE OUR BODY COMPOSITION RESPECTING THE NATURE OF EACH ONE. Please, don't try to look like anyone else, INVEST IN YOURSELF.

And it is that we have only talked about the physical aspect, but THE MOST IMPORTANT PURPOSE OF YOUR BODY FOR THE NEW YEAR IS YOUR GENERAL HEALTH. So that this perfect machine we have called the body, works wonderfully AND DOES NOT GET SICK

  • Eat well, so you don't have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, or stomach/intestinal problems, so you don't have diabetes... etc.
  • Exercise, to have strong muscles and bones, so that tomorrow you don't have muscle mass loss and avoid the risk of osteoporosis. Exercise releases endorphins that make you feel full, so you rest better... etc.

Happy 2022!

Without further ado, I bid you farewell until next year, wishing you a year full of HEALTH in all aspects. I hope I have contributed my grain of sand to your approach for 2022 and that we all truly emerge stronger and with more enthusiasm for life than ever.
