What started as a temporary situation has become a daily ordeal that has suddenly changed our plans. What now? How can we psychologically cope with not reaching our goal?

It is true that in our current situation, where a global pandemic has thwarted our plans, we have had no choice but to represent ourselves as a species capable of adapting to change, with all that that may entail. The price is not paid only economically but with a currency that can hurt us more – though we are not aware that it can be infinite if we set our minds to it – such as our DREAMS.

Dreams that had a championship date, a race, a trip, a purpose, and a goal that are now abruptly halted for many of us who had been preparing, who had been giving our all, with expectations and a leitmotif that moved us forward.

What do I do if my goal has been thwarted?

And here's the crux of the matter: what to do if your dream comes true? And what to do if your dream doesn't come true? How do we psychologically cope with not reaching our goal? This seems like a detractor of illusions, but it is nothing more than a tool of awareness, why? Because if we limit our capacity to a single aspect, we are also limiting all the virtues we can take advantage of.

It is legitimate for those ideals that get us out of bed every morning to take the form of a medal, a cup, a diploma or to place us on a certain stage, because we believe that we will only be able to FEEL when that specific event allows us to BE.

But if within you there is a desire for victory, if what you want is to be a champion in something, even if this is the essential ingredient of an athlete: do you know that your mind is capable of creating that sensation and you can feel that way beyond confirmation? And that you can be what you dream of until that material recognition, let's call it a medal, a cup, etc., gives us the revalidation? And when you understand that, you will understand that it will even no longer be so necessary to receive it, because within you is already that person you feel you have come to be.

Accepting to give up

Inevitably giving up on a plan can cause us frustration, but if you truly believe in yourself and in everything you feel you have come to do, if you believe in everything you were giving your 100% for, keep reaffirming yourself in it! Motivate yourself! Devise a new strategy, review everything you have achieved from the concept of abundance and don't throw it away because it is still yours!!

This is the warrior's rest, where from the peak of his journey he devises a new strategy to achieve his goal. Be the main defender of your dreams and learn that the feeling of victory is yours and you already carry it within.

Enjoy the time instead of suffering it, focus on what you can do for what you long for. Stay active, cultivate yourself! Behave 24/7 like that athlete or that outstanding example you want to be. Establish a model of it and emulate it.

The number 1 athlete you want to be: How do they behave in the face of adversity?

How much do they want their dreams so as not to easily give them up?

Write your own story, design your best tools, and don't forget that if within an illuminated place you only look where there is no light, you will never be able to clearly trace your destiny.
