Recharge your batteries without losing your shape this holiday season
August, the international holiday month!
All year round, we are subjected to an increasingly high level of stress. We demand a lot from ourselves, the stress level increases, and that is why it is necessary to slow down. But we need to know how to do it so that this month of rest is as productive as possible and we recharge our batteries to the maximum.
I am going to give you some simple guidelines to make the most of this rest period, so you can enjoy your holidays without losing the shape you have worked so hard for this year. This way, you will start September better and with more enthusiasm than ever, with the goal of moving forward with all your projects and goals.
It is a mistake to "cut off from everything". I mean, many people think that by taking a radical break from everything, they will be able to renew or even increase their energy. Nothing could be further from the truth, and I mean everything. You cannot go a whole month without eating healthily, throwing away so many months of work. You cannot go from training 4 or 5 days a week to spending 30 days lounging by the pool and little else. It's one thing to disconnect, but it's another to lose all the work you've done for a year in 30 days.
Practical tips to stay in shape during the holidays
- Keep eating healthy. It is very healthy to be flexible and eat different things, not to be so strict with schedules or to eat more on occasion, that's perfect! But always eat with a bit of sense. Don't overdo it at every meal and try to include vegetables, fruits, and enough nutrients in your 4-6 meals a day. Eat healthy but different. Prepare recipes or homemade ice creams with protein (we have a thousand recipes on our website and on the Youtube channel!)
- Keep exercising. There's more to sports and life outside the gym! It's very positive to disconnect from your daily sports activity for a while, but don't stop moving that great body. You can go running, swimming, walking, dancing. As the song said, "don't stop the rhythm!"
- If you are traveling, consider these foods:
- Energy and protein bars that can help you if you are going hiking or walking a lot exploring a place,
- Isotonic drinks (to prevent dehydration),
- Protein shakes, or our famous oat flours or protein pancakes. They will save us in a pinch on trips, at airports... or when you're on an excursion and have nowhere to buy food.
Some of my favorite products for summer:
- BCAA RTD: a refreshing BCAA drink that also has no sugar or almost any calories.
- Yippie Fruits: to say it's delicious is an understatement. High in protein, low in sugar, with an unbeatable refreshing taste.
- Protein Cookie: Perfect for not going hours without eating, a delicious treat that will give you energy throughout the day to keep enjoying sightseeing.
And now, enjoy!
